Karen Carlson, Managing Director of Pet Bird Entertainment, will tell you she's seen a lot of this country and a lot of this world, for that matter. She was born and raised in Seattle, then grabbed a hot cup of coffee and started traveling. From television reporting and writing jobs at KOMO-TV in Seattle, she headed south to the land of Elvis. Karen spent a few years at WREG-TV in Memphis, where she was an anchor and a reporter. Then something happened. The love affair began.

Karen moved to New Orleans. She worked several years at legendary television station WWL-TV as an anchor and a reporter. It was in New Orleans that Karen won an Emmy award, the highest award given to people in the broadcast news business. This led to Karen moving into the "big leagues" of television news, as an anchor and reporter at KABC in Los Angeles. But remember what we said about that love affair. Karen did what so many other folks do from New Orleans. She came back.
