Karen E. Carlson
CEO/Executive Director

Karen Carlson is an Emmy Award winning journalist whose work has been seen in major markets across the U.S. She created Pet Bird Entertainment, LLC, after wanting to help New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, which she did with her first show, Forever New Orleans TV, which originally was called A Whole New Orleans. The company has grown during its inception, and Carlson has had the opportunity to work with people from many walks of life and has also sat on boards such as the Content Advisory Board for the Consumer Electronics Show.

Marcie McPherson
Host of Travel Tidbits
Director of Sales,

Marcie is the Director of Sales for North America for Pet Bird Entertainment. Marcie has been a multiple award-winning salesperson in both media and pharmaceutical sales. She also is Host of our new Travel Tidbits series, as well host and chef of another series called This Girl Cooks. McPherson has guest hosted and appeared on several television shows and movies, including Entourage and Cougar Club alongside Faye Dunaway.  She even appears as a co-host on Episode 2 "Guys & Dolls" on Forever New Orleans TV!

Kristin Hill
Regional Sales Director
East Coast & Carolinas

Kristin Hill is the Regional Sales Director for the East Coast operations of Pet Bird Entertainment for our Travel Tidbits television series, an area that includes the Carolinas.  She is also a producer and writer, having been an Emmy-nominated and award winning journalist who has worked as Executive Producer, Investigative Reporter and anchor in Phoenix, Memphis, Savannah and Charlotte as well as other television markets. She also served as Executive Producer and Product Placement Director of the Carolina Cooking Show which aired in the US and 50 other countries.

Charlie Adams
Regional Sales Director,

After winning awards for more than 20 years in the television sports business, author Charlie Adams is now a corporate motivational speaker and international travel guru who has his own tour named after him – “Travels With Charlie.” His years of experience in both public speaking and television broadcasting make him a wonderful resource for Pet Bird Entertainment. He is on-tap to be a host in a PBE-produced travel series focused on the Midwest, and is one of our “voices” for corporate videos and commercial production.

Chuck Boudreaux
Regional Sales Director,

Chuck Boudreaux is the Regional Sales Director of the Southern Sales Division for Pet Bird Entertainment, handling advertising sales for Travel Tidbits TV. He has documented an award winning sales career in both pharmaceutical and investment securities. Chuck has made extensive travels in the States and overseas, and has developed a deep-hearted passion for food, wine and that legendary "Southern" hospitality.

John Sharify
Writer/Producer

John Sharify has been recognized as one of the best broadcast journalists in the country. He is this year’s National Edward R. Murrow Award winner for top broadcast news writer in the country. John has been honored with six National Murrow Awards. He's been nominated for 119 Emmy Awards, and has taken home 31 of those Emmys. For many years at KOMO-TV in Seattle, his People Helper segment was awarded for its life-affirming stories that fed the soul and lifted the spirit of his viewers. Those stories also helped raise over $6.5 million dollars during his time at the station.

Karen Carlson has worked as a news anchor and reporter at television stations across the country including KABC-TV in Los Angeles, WREG-TV in Memphis, Tennessee and WWL-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana.  She broke the news about Hurricane Katrina while at ABC and wanted to do something to give back to the city she loves so much, so she created a show called A Whole New Orleans, which was later changed to Forever New Orleans TV, to match the rebranding campaign of the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau.  The show has been seen in over 50 countries and aired domestically on the Travel Channel paid programming block in 2008.  She was the host of Season One of the show and was also the Executive Producer, Producer and Writer on several of the shows.  Her passion for storytelling has her teamed up with some of the greatest writers in the country on three new shows she’s created, called Travel Tidbits, A Whole New Series & Luxury Living.

Michael Matthews
Writer/Producer

A journalist for over three decades, Michael Matthews knows how to capture the audience’s attention with sharp, witty writing, while maintaining the “feel” of a story.  He has won Broadcaster of the Year awards in his past and is well known for his ability to make even seemingly mundane stories sing.

Andrew Bottom
Associate Editor

Andrew is PBE’s associate editor and also works on researching facts regarding our television and video production projects.  He has experience in Final Cut Pro and also with our broadcast camera, the XDCAM HD.   He came to PBE from the island of Oahu, where he assisted an independent documentary filmmaker.  He also has experience working with a commercial production company .
